El Laboratorio de Sistemas Inteligentes (LabSI) de la Facultad de Ingeniería Eléctrica de la Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá (FIE-UTP) participó con éxito en el Primer Seasonal School del IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (IEEE CAS) en Panamá, que se desarrolló del 16 al 18 de diciembre de 2025 en el Salón 107 del Centro de Convenciones de la Ciudad del Saber.
El evento internacional reunió a expertos de la industria, la academia y centros de innovación de distintos países, con el objetivo de fortalecer capacidades en IoT, diseño de circuitos integrados, inteligencia artificial aplicada, semiconductores y tecnologías sostenibles.
En el marco del programa, el Dr. Danilo Cáceres Hernández, investigador del LabSI, presentó la conferencia: “Trends in IoT-enabled technologies for smart agriculture in developing countries”, abordando el impacto de las tecnologías IoT en la agricultura inteligente en economías en desarrollo.
La agenda incluyó conferencias magistrales y talleres prácticos impartidos por especialistas de STMicroelectronics, Synopsys, Silicon Labs, así como representantes de universidades y organismos nacionales e internacionales. La actividad contó con el respaldo de IEEE Panamá, SENACYT, Fundación Ciudad del Saber, la Universidad de Panamá y la Universidad Tecnológica de Panamá.
La participación de LabSI en esta primera edición del Seasonal School reafirma su compromiso con la investigación aplicada, la transferencia de conocimiento y la formación avanzada en tecnologías emergentes.
LabSI Successfully Participated in the First IEEE CAS Seasonal School in Panama
The Intelligent Systems Laboratory (LabSI) of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering at the Technological University of Panama (FIE-UTP) successfully participated in the First IEEE Circuits and Systems Society (IEEE CAS) Seasonal School in Panama, held from December 16 to 18, 2025, at Room 107 of the Ciudad del Saber Convention Center.
The international event brought together experts from industry, academia, and innovation centers worldwide to strengthen capabilities in IoT, integrated circuit design, applied artificial intelligence, semiconductors, and sustainable technologies.
As part of the program, Dr. Danilo Cáceres Hernández, LabSI researcher, delivered the lecture: “Trends in IoT-enabled technologies for smart agriculture in developing countries,” highlighting the impact of IoT technologies on smart agriculture in developing economies.
The program included keynote lectures and hands-on workshops conducted by specialists from STMicroelectronics, Synopsys, Silicon Labs, as well as representatives from universities and national and international organizations.The event was supported by IEEE Panama, SENACYT, Fundación Ciudad del Saber, the University of Panama, and the Technological University of Panama.
LabSI’s participation in this first edition of the Seasonal School reinforces its commitment to applied research, knowledge transfer, and advanced training in emerging technologies.
